The Line
Nothing Added. Nothing Removed.

At the same time the thread returned to me, I was working through a problem at the bench. Stones could wear against the silk over time, and I was looking for another way. The usual instinct is to add. A stronger cord, a different fitting, something more.
I asked the opposite question. What if I removed them?
What remained was a single length of red silk and nothing else. The thread I had been reading about, now in my own hands. I did not want to reproduce the tradition. I wanted my own reading of something I had found my way back to.
So I left it. No stones, no charms, no other colours. The tied closure became a sterling silver clasp, the name engraved into it, and the silk stayed exactly what it was.
That became The Line.
Nothing added. Nothing removed.
