Origins

One of the earliest copper ores, mined in the Sinai and Eastern Desert of Egypt as early as 4000 BCE.

The Egyptians called it wadj, meaning green, and connected it with fertility and renewal.

Ground into powder and used as a cosmetic pigment by Egyptian royals for centuries.

Product Description

Malachite has faced the interiors of Russian imperial palaces and lined the eyes of Egyptian royals. This Mala counts 108 AAA grade stones of it across a single line of light pink woven silk, reducing one of the most architecturally significant stones in history to its most personal and intimate form.

The piece is finished with sterling silver Chinese Fu marker beads in eight millimetre sizing and a ten millimetre Fu Guru bead.
