The Line

I heard the story of the Red Thread of Fate when I was young. An invisible red thread that connects those who are meant to find one another. At the time it was simply a story, and I left it where I found it.

It returned years later, while I was looking more closely at Chinese culture and at my own heritage. The same story, waiting there in the reading. It arrived differently the second time. By then I was not learning it so much as recognising it.

I did not set out to make anything from it. That came later, and not in the way I expected.
